Adverbs: Definition, Types, Usage, and Examples

Adverbs are words which modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They provide additional information about when, where, how or to what extent something happens.

Adverb is defined as a word that modifies an adjective, a verb, or another adverb. It can also modify a clause or a phrase.

Adverbs can provide information about:

  • Manner: How something is done
  • Time: When something happens

Types of adverbs

  • The coffee is too hot.
  • She is very intelligent.
